A Laguna Hills,
Calif.-based sports bar and restaurant chain this
year will open in Gilbert a second Valley
location.
The Indigo Joe's
Sports Pub & Restaurant will be at 1939 E.
Baseline Road, on the southwestern corner of
Gilbert and Baseline roads. It will debut in
November, said Troy Taylor, chief executive
officer.
The first Valley
Indigo Joe's opened a year ago in Mesa, at 2855 N.
Power Road.
Taylor describes
the concept, which has 26 franchise locations, as
a family restaurant that specializes in sports.
Of interest to the
rabid sports fan: A typical Indigo Joe's has 50
television sets with 30-inch flat screens, as well
as a 75-inch high-definition TV. Taylor said this
setup
affords even the worst seat in the restaurant a
view of 20 TVs.
Of interest to
parents with small children: Each Indigo Joe's
dining room has a kids' video-game room enclosed
in glass so that parents can supervise children as
they play.
Indigo Joe's menu
includes 20 beers on tap, appetizers, sandwiches,
salads, burgers, entrees and a kids' menu. Pricing
is moderate. Salads cost $8 to $9, burgers average
$7.75, sandwiches $7 and certified Angus steaks
$16 to $17. Items include the Mexican
chicken salad, with char-grilled chicken breast,
corn, chips, olives,
kidney beans, guacamole and salsa; the regular Joe
burger, a half-pound, certified black Angus burger
with thousand-island dressing, lettuce and tomato,
served with fries or coleslaw; and a 12-ounce,
certified black Angus rib-eye steak char-grilled
and served with a garden salad or coleslaw, baked
potato, fries or rice, and garlic
bread.
